The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin is the first Catholic university in Central and Eastern Europe and is among the oldest universities in Poland. Throughout its nearly 100-year history, it has become one of the most important centres of Catholic thought, which affects the shape of Polish science and culture, gaining wide recognition in the country and abroad. The mission of KUL is to conduct research in a spirit of harmony between science and faith, to educate and bring up Catholic intellectuals and co-create Catholic culture. The university’s motto is Deo et Patriae.
The Faculty of Philosophy conducts a full range of studies in Philosophy in English. We conduct a Bachelor’s Degree course as well as Master’s Degree course. Both courses culminate, respectively, in a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in philosophy in the student’s field of specialization. Students who have earned the Master’s Degree may continue doctoral studies in Philosophy in English.
